How Can I Make A Raccoon Costume For My Dog?

I'm going to be pocahontas for halloween. I have a mini pincher(he is about 10lbs.) and i wanted him to be Miko from the movie. I was wondering if i can't find the costume at my local stores (Petco, Target, Walmart and Kmart) is there an easy way to make it?? thanks.

First purchase a grey dog hoodie like the one provided here: http://www.pet-dog-cat-supply-store.com/…
Second using a sewing machine or by hand sew at least four one inch strips of black and gray fabric (felt is cheap) together. Second sew the now completed piece into a tube shape and finaly sewing one end shut.
Fill with cotton and sew shut remaining open end. Proceed to sew onto waistband of sweater so that tail will be noticeable on dog’s back.
Last measure dogs face and then take more black felt marking how far apart dogs eyes are on fabric and position eye holes in proportion with where the dogs eyes are. Make holes big enough so vision is not obstructed and sew to hood piece of dog hoodie so it can fold over dog’s face or fold back if he/she is agitated by this.
Last cut two triangles of black felt and sew on either side of mask on hood piece of dog hoodie. These can be pinned to hood to stand if they don’t do so on their own.

make a fluffy tail and then dye his fur. or use washable paint. or shave hime. . . . . .
A gray tshirt and maybe color it more so it looks like fur??? maybe black foam board/card board for ears
