Vampires are one of those myths that people have been talking about for centuries and they are surrounded in mystery and intrigue. There are so many things which make people interested in vampires from their vampire fangs to their dark and sinister presence. Everyone wonders if they could really be real and many books and films have been produced detailing their lives.
Vampires are well known for feeding from humans by drinking their blood with their vampire fangs. This traditional story is well known as is believed to be as old as man. The actual term vampire was not commonly used until the 18th century when people began to call them by this name. The vampire legend became even greater in 1897 when Bram stoker wrote a book about Dracula and this became the basis for all vampire and fangs stories.
This amazing book portrayed the vampire as elegant people who didn't simply show their fangs and bite people. The great success of this book made vampires even more mysterious and they have continued to be popular all the way up to the 21st century. People are still interested in the way vampires feel and feed and the way they use their vampire fangs to eat. The vampire is one of the greatest figures in the horror genre and to this day interests millions of people.
There have been films, books, video games and TV shows all with vampires in them which have only helped the fascination with vampires. There have been many different images of vampires and vampire fangs over the years and many people believe they take a human form. Although their fangs are usually the same in every image, they can be only seen when they go to bite their victims. Another thing that is traditional in all of the stories is the fact that vampires are immortal.
There are many myths as to how you can identify the vampires and people believe that they cannot be seen during the day. Garlic and holy water are supposed to affect the vampires and these can both be used to ward off the vampires and their fangs. Although these methods work in some of the tales in other stories they do not. Vampires like many great myths do change their behavior from story to story.
Halloween of course is the favorite time when the great stories and tales come out and people are made even more aware of vampires. People dress up as these great characters and get their fangs out to become a scary vampire. Even small children love the mystery of vampires and all ages love this character for fancy dress costumes.
Whether you believe in vampires or not their history and the different ways they have been portrayed is very interesting to everyone. You will find some of the stories interesting and even fascinating and wherever you look there will be a new vampire story or book.

As we all know, Halloween is coming up soon. This year, I want to dress my dog up as something unique, clever, original. It would also be cool if her and I could sort of match, but not essential. However, I would prefer not to buy a costume. Are there any good ideas in which I can easily make a cool, prize-winning costume for her and/or I? She is a small beagle, so keep that in mind.
