Halloween is popular with not only kids but many adults as well. Why is that? For kids the reasons are very obvious. 
Kids can dress up in a costume perhaps of their favorite action hero and, best of all, they get lots of free candy.   What kid wouldn't love Halloween?

Halloween is somewhat of a mixed blessing for parents. There are safety issues.  Every year one reads about finding razors in candy or some other dangerous substance. So screen and setting ground rules for all that free candy is necessary.
It's also very important that a responsible adult is always with the children as they trick or treat.  Look over the neighborhood for anything abnormal.
If older kids are going as a group you need to caution them on street safety as well as odd people about.  And hopefully the kids can delay eating any candy unless it is a commercially wrapped and sealed candy until the parent screens all candy at home. And the kids need a cellphone to check in at home.
Parent can also enjoy this holiday with their children. It isn't all about rules, screening and warnings on Halloween. If you're creative, you can made a homemade costume for your child.  Some of the best costumes are homemade.
You can create a cute Halloween decor around the home. There are many sources for scary props that are fun. Even Dad enjoys setting up a witches cauldron or a mummy prop.
And let 's not forget that many adults enjoy Halloween just as much as kids. A growing fad is for couples to dress in the same theme costumes.
Think of a fun duo in history, fairy tales, movies or even reel life people.
Mark Anthony and Cleopatra, Dracula and his bride or perhaps a Star Trek couple or caveman couple.
